ABOUT FIRST GRADE EXCAVATING

Rick Hancock comes from a long line of professionals in the excavation industry. In the early 1970's, Hancock Excavating was established by Frank & Ludwina Hancock. Their primary focus in business varied as the years passed and as their business grew.  With concrete construction through the mid 80’s, the business primarily evolved into a general dirt work company with a primary focus on new housing basement excavation from start to finish, that lasted over 50 years.  Today with over 35 years of hands on experience, Rick continues in their legacy as a second generation excavation company offering similar, yet varied services. First Grade was formed in 2002 with a primary focus on new housing final grades and drainage correction specialties. Thus creating our slogan,

“The Right Grade, The First Time”. 

Today our primary focus is, but not limited to, residential drainage corrections, erosion control, new housing rough and final grades, and rock and gravel installs.

We celebrate our over 35 years of experience by providing our customers with fair priced services, and quality products that

represent generations of experience and knowledge. 

We still live and breathe by our slogan, our product line is wide and deep. 

From the small jobs to the bigger jobs, we take great pride in managing complex and limited access projects. We find our work rewarding and are eager to take on complex multiple scoped projects that change the lives of our customers. We really look forward to seeing our customers at the grocery store and them reminding us of what a great job we did for them, that’s the real reward! It’s all about building relationships that last.
