ABOUT FIRST GRADE EXCAVATING

Hancock Excavating was started in the early 70”s by Frank & Ludwina Hancock. Their primary focus in business varied as the years passed and as their business grew.  With concrete construction through the mid 80’s, the business evolved into primarily a general dirt work company with its primary focus on new housing basement excavation, from start to finish, that lasted over 50 years.  Today with over 35 years of hands on experience we continue in their legacy as a second generation company offering similar, yet different services. First Grade was formed in 2002 with a primary focus on new housing final grades and drainage correction specialties, thus our slogan, “The Right Grade, The First Time”.  

Today our primary focus is, but not limited to, residential drainage corrections, erosion control, concrete, above ground

swimming pools, and complete lawn renovations. 

We celebrate our over 35 years of experience by providing to our customers a fair priced quality product that

represents generations of experience and knowledge. 

We still live and breathe by our slogan, our product line is wide and deep. 

From grading to erosion control, sand , rock, gravel, a pool, we take great pride in managing complex and limited access projects. We find our work rewarding and are eager to take on complex multiple scoped projects that change the lives of our customers. We really look forward to seeing our customers at the grocery store and them reminding us of what a great job we did for them, that’s the real reward! It’s all about building relationships that last.
